“Let’s Stay Together” written by Al Green, is a tenderhearted blend of gospel and R&B, the sensual and the sanctified. It’s also a declaration of commitment through the good and bad times and a testament to longevity and perseverance. The range of the melody on the saxophone fits so naturally. Chris Big Dog Davis and I thought it would be a nice twist to add a spice of Jazz and improvisation with this classic song. The chord changes in the bridge welcomes the saxophone and piano solos and interaction between the two at the end.
