Following more than 300 performances worldwide with the Bob James Quartet, Ukrainian saxophonist, Andrey Chmut, releases “London’s Trip,” featuring jazz legend Bob James on Piano. The title was inspired by a remarkable real-life experience from 2019. While traveling to London with his band for a special performance with Bob James, Chmut and band unexpectedly faced the possibility of being denied boarding because of visa complications. Against all odds, the group was ultimately allowed to continue their journey, turning a stressful airport ordeal into an unforgettable memory. Recorded between Ukraine and the United States, the single brings together musicians from Ukraine, Nigeria, and America. “London’s Trip” blends contemporary jazz grooves and memorable melodies inspired by an unforgettable journey that nearly never happened.
