Saxman/Producer Reggie Hines is back with his 4^th solo project, Time Travel. Creating a compelling slate of groove-oriented songs that draw from the many styles that have not only intrigued him throughout his life but truly defined his artistry, Reggie Hines vibes effortlessly on Time Travel with bassist Jonathan Troy (Music Director for Musiq Soulchild and Maxwell), keyboardist Jordache Grant (MD for Jon B), drummer Geremy Winbush and guitarists Mark Strowbridge and James Owens. The first single from the album, “Might As Well,” took shape when Hines invited his old friend and frequent collaborator Alyson Williams to contribute her vocals to the edgy, wildly funkified, deeply in the pocket track. It’s a buoyant, soaring jam that draws from Hines’ love of funk, contemporary jazz and fusion, featuring Hines himself creating an otherworldly vocoder solo in conjunction with Troy’s bouncy bass solo.
